German filmmakers capture 12 awards in competition
LOS ANGELES, CALIF., USA –German filmmakers captured 12 awards, including a first place, in the 2012 US International Film & Video Festival competition.
Westdeutscher Rundfunk, Cologne, won a Silver Screen Award in Television: Documentary Programs for “Tanks At Checkpoint Charlie.” The filmmaker also captured three Certificates of Creative Excellence for “The Boy Mir-Ten Years in Afghanistan” in Television: Documentary Programs; “The Show With Mouse-Atomic Energy Special” in Intermediate/Middle School; and, “Cinderella” in Television: Regularly Scheduled Entertainment Programs & Specials.
Winning single Certificates were feedback communication GmbH, Nuremberg, in Film/Video/Digital: Documentaries for “Light close to everyone”; Blue Note Productions Film & TV GmbH, Duesseldorf, in Televisio: Documentary Programs for “In the Footsteps of Charles Darwin”; Kemper Kommunikation GmbH, Frankfurt, in Advertising/Marketing Communications; Barbecue Mediendesign GmbH, Frankfurt, in Craft/Production Techniques; and Maximilian Film GmbH, Munich, in Advertising/Marketing Communications for “SIMATIC HMI Comfort Panels Trailer.”
The overall competition recognized competitors with 20 First Place Gold Camera statuettes, 28 Silver Screen Awards, 60 Certificates for Creative Excellence and four Student Awards. Twenty-three countries produced winners in this 42nd annual competition, which drew more than 1,100 participating entries from 29 countries.
