Danish filmmakers score in international competition
LOS ANGELES, CALIF., USA –Danish filmmakers, led by Copenhagen Film Company ApS, captured three awards in the 2012 US International Film & Video Festival competition. The wins included two first places.
Copenhagen Film Company ApS, Copenhagen, won two first Place Gold Camera statuettes, both in Advertising/Marketing Communcations, for “We Are Maersk” and “We Make Change Happen.”
In “We Are Maersk” Christopher Boe, executive film director, and Manuel Alberto Claro, executive cinematographer, present the several business units of Maersk and explain how all the complexity comes together in the spirit of the company. “We Make Change Happen” presents the Maersk philosophy of investing locally and providing the expertise in infrastructure support needed to drive development that now takes years, rather than generations.
Winning a Certificate of Creative Excellence was vnr.TV, Copenhagen, for “It’s – Royal North Sealand.” The award came in the Tourism Films portion of the competition. the film was done for clients Dorte Killerich and Tommy Seier of Royal North Sealand. The three-minute film was produced by Director Anders Garde K. and Photographer/Editor Matthias Fjeldborg, both of vnr.tv. Royal North Sealand is regarded as the best area of the Upper Copenhagen region with its array of castles, forests, beaches and plenty of space for all who want to come see its rich beauty.The overall competition recognized competitors with 20 First Place Gold Camera statuettes, 28 Silver Screen Awards, 60 Certificates for Creative Excellence and four Student Awards. Twenty-three countries produced winners in this 42nd annual competition, which drew more than 1,100 participating entries from 29 countries.
