Croatian filmmaker scores in international competition
LOS ANGELES, CALIF., USA –A Croatian entry has won an award in the 2012 US International Film & Video Festival competition.
Croatian National Tourist Board, Zagreb, earned a Certificate for Creative Excellence in Tourism Films for “Ode to Joy.” The film presents Croatia as the new tourism star of the European Union. Croatian cellist Ana Rucner performs Beethoven’s “Ode To Joy” as the scenery moves from waterfalls to mountains to men at sea and groups of children captured by her performance. Traditional dancers and musicians move among ancient architecture and modern transportation scenes.
The overall competition awarded 20 First Place Gold Camera statuettes, 28 Silver Screen Awards, 60 Certificates for Creative Excellence and four Student Awards. Twenty-three countries produced winners in this 42nd annual competition, which drew more than 1,100 participating entries from 29 countries.
