Austrian filmmakers score in international competition

           LOS ANGELES, CALIF., USA –Austrian filmmakers, led by Terra Mater Factual Studios GmbH, captured nine awards, including two second places, in the 2012 US International Film & Video Festival competition.
           Terra Mater Factual Studios GmbH, Vienna, earned a second place Silver Screen Award in Television: Documentary Programs for “The Neanderthals’ Dark Secret.” The filmmaker captured Certificates of Creative Excellence for “Aurora – Fire in the Sky,” “White Lions – Born Wild: Fight for Survival,” “White Lions – Born Wild: Against All Odds” and “Bird Brain,” all in Television: Documentary Programs.
           Also winning a Silver Screen Award was Austrian Broadcasting Corporation, Vienna, in Craft/Production Techniques for “Inn – The Green River In The Alps.” The filmmaker also captured a Certificate for Creative Excellence in Craft/Production Techniques for “Radioactive Wolves.”
Vienna Film Commission GmbH, Vienna, garnered a Certificate for “On Location – Interiors” in Tourism Films. A Salzburg firm, explosive egg films and television, took a Certificate in Specialty Productions for “Mubea Carbo Tech 2012.”
           The overall competition recognized competitors with 20 First Place Gold Camera statuettes, 28 Silver Screen Awards, 60 Certificates for Creative Excellence and four Student Awards. Twenty-three countries produced winners in this 42nd annual competition, which drew more than 1,100 participating entries from 29 countries.
