KEMPER, WDR, BM8 EARN MULTIPLE FESTIVAL AWARDS LOS ANGELES, CALIF., USA – German entrants have captured 12 awards in the 2009 U.S. International Film and Video Festival. Festival entries came from 22 countries. Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR), Cologne, won a first-place Gold Camera Award for “The Show with the Elephant, Episode 111” in the Education: Pre-School, Kindergarten section. WDR captured two second-place Silver Screen Awards for “7,000 kilometers from home” in Social Issues and for “Eco-Crimes: Fishing Pirates in Oceanography, Fisheries. WDR shared a Silver Screen with KonFilm, Bonn, for “Sisters of Mercy, also in the Documentary: Social Issues section. In addition, WDR received a Certificate of Creative Excellence Award in Art, Culture for “Colville.” BM8 GmbH, Hamburg, won second-place Silver Screen Awards for “IKEA Discover your kitchen from Z to A” in Internet Programming: Virals, and for Nordex “China” in Public Relations: Corporate Image. BM8 also received a Certificate of Creative Excellence in the Corporate Communications: Dealer, Distributor, Franchisee section for Mercedes Benz GLK “Chasing Lights.” The U.S. International Film & Video Festival has been in operation since 1967 and recognizes outstanding Business, Television, Documentary, Educational, Entertainment, Industrial and Informational productions. The U.S. International Film & Video Festivals invites you to participate in a sister competition, the Mobius Awards for advertising, a competition for Television, Cinema/In-flight, Radio, Print, Outdoor, Brochure/Book, Direct, Package Design and Redesign, Point of Purchase, New Media, Mixed Media and Student Work.
