CALL FOR ENTRIES ISSUED FOR WORLDWIDE FILM FESTIVAL LOS ANGELES, CALIF. — The U.S. International Film And Video Festival has opened its 2005 competition. The festival drew more than 1,500 entries from 27 countries in 2004. The deadline for 2005 is March 1. Productions created or released up until that date are eligible. Entries are invited in 52 categories or sub-categories of Business, Television, Documentary, Entertainment, Industrial, and Informational projects. Once again a panel of members of The International Quorum of Motion Picture Producers (IQ), a global peer network of production company owners, will select a Grand Prix winner in the competition. The panelists will come from four different continents, according to Lee Gluckman, CEO of the film and video festival. “Coral Reef Adventure,” an IMAX film produced by MacGillivray Freeman Films, Laguna Beach, Calif., won the Best of Festival (Grand Prix) award in 2004 from among nominees that included “Faces of Life” by Gehrisch & Krack Filmproduktions AG., Dusseldorf, Germany. IQ also presents the “One World Award” to the production that best promotes international cooperation and understanding. Barth van Doorn of Momentum NL, Amstelveen, The Netherlands, received the 2004 One World Award for his ‘Walk the World’ film, which promoted a company’s fund-raising walk for the United Nation’s School Feeding Programme. Sixty-five Gold Camera awards and 82 Silver Screen awards were given in the 2004 competition. German companies captured seven Gold and seven Silver awards. German winners were:
