MADRID, BARCELONA COMPANIES WIN FILM FESTIVAL AWARDS

LOS ANGELES CA., USA - Two companies in Madrid and one in Barcelona have won Silver Screen awards in the 2003 U.S. International Film And Video Festival.

The winning entries from COM 4HD and Master Cluster, Madrid, and Clara Films, Barcelona, were among more than 1,500 entries from 28 countries. A total of 64 Gold Camera Awards and 92 Silver Screen Awards were given in 52 categories or sub-categories.

The awards were presented June 6 during ceremonies in Manhattan Beach, Calif. COM 4HD won in the Sciences category for "Rio Tinto, Mars on Earth," done for Discovery Communications, Bethesda, Md., USA. The production features scientists from NASA and Australia who have discovered earth environments analog to Mars.

Master Cluster's "Russian Lessons (Clases de Ruso) won in Short Films. The production is a love story about loneliness, destiny and the difficulty of relationships.

Clara Films' winning entry, "A City Undergoing Transformation," won in Community Development. It was done for Infrastructures del Lievant de Barcelona about a transformation project underway to prepare for the 2004 International Forum of Cultures.

The competition is in its 36th year and is recognized as one of the world's leading events for Business, Television, Documentary, Industrial, and Informational and Entertainment productions.

Lee W. Gluckman Jr. is chairman of the U.S. International Film And Video Festival. He also is chairman of the Mobius Advertising Awards Competition held each February.
