ENTRIES FROM JAPAN TAKE GOLD, TWO SILVER AWARDS AT FESTIVAL

LOS ANGELES CA., USA - Taiyo Kikaku So. Ltd., Tokyo, has won a Gold Camera award in the 2003 U.S. International Film And Video Festival for a presentation done for the Shikoku Electric Power Co.'s nuclear plant in Kagawa.

The production, "Go! Go! Denkies," was created for visitors, especially children.

The winning production was among more than 1,500 entries from 28 countries. A total of 64 Gold Camera Awards and 92 Silver Screen Awards were given in 52 categories or sub-categories. The awards were presented June 6 during ceremonies in Manhattan Beach, Calif.

Image Science Inc., Minato, Tokyo, and Office Just, Yokohama, won Silver Screen awards.

Image Science's "Nanotubulites" feature for Japan Science and Technology Corp., Saitama, won in the Sciences, Research category. The production outlined the research into carbon nanotubes, which are expected to be broadly used for sustainable materials for industries in the future.

Office Just won Silver in Manufacturing, Engineering, Industrial & Technical Processes for "In Search of Ultimate Precision," done for Mitsui Seiki Kogyo Co. Ltd., Yokohama.

The competition is in its 36th year and is recognized as one of the world's leading events for Business, Television, Documentary, Industrial, and Informational and Entertainment productions.

Lee W. Gluckman Jr. is chairman of the U.S. International Film And Video Festival. He also is chairman of the Mobius Advertising Awards Competition held each February.
