The objectives of the film are: increasing loyalty to the company, reviving pride in the profession, attracting new employees. We intended to show employees that RUSAL is a place where they can work and live brightly, following their dream. Artists, travelers, programmers, scientists, athletes – these are all impressive professions which never fail to attract acclaim. But what about steel workers? Many assume they’re strange people with dull, routine, boring lives. We will prove them wrong. This is the story of Yuri Migurenko from Severouralsk (Russia). More than 45 years he has been going down 1,5 kilometers to the mines, and on weekends he heads up to the Ural mountains peaks where he leads hiking groups. “When you leave the TV behind, walk away from the couch, put on your waders and backpack — that’s a different way of relating to yourself and to your fellow hikers”.
The concept of video was to show that steel worker’s job is for unusual, versatile people with a strong spirit. We used a true story, direct testimony format, and focused on person’s life, not productivity. This is the fourth film of the “RUSAL. True Stories” project. The campaign’s videos were filmed in various cities of Ural and Siberia. We joined the heroes as they climbed mountains, explored caves, participated in marathons, flew hang gliders, danced and played the guitar. There was no prepared speech so every person would able to talk about himself in his own words. Everything you see on the screen is a real story. We’re delighted to show you this film, which celebrates real people in Russia. After all, it is these people who are breaking new ground for themselves and their company, and inspiring others to live a full and active life and take pride in their profession.

The film telling us about the generation gap where young generation is convinced that aircraft engine designer profession is only for old people and not modern at all. It consists of two major parts: interviews with real constructors that are interwind with a story granddad-aircraft-designer tells his grandson about his work. On the other hand, the film made a big impression on the company’s heads so they have started to pay more attention to the younger employees, communicate and have joint events with them more frequently. The employees started to feel their value in the company and became thankful.
The script about the conflict between a grandfather and a grandson is written based on the personal experience of the screenwriter. And it turned out that this completely coincides with the personal experience of the chief aircraft engine designer of the enterprise. The film uses an original method of dialogue between staged and documentary storylines.
